»You just have to watch that you don’t get arrogant.
Sometimes I think to myself, Take it easy.
You’re not the greatest after all!«

Excerpt:

I just like trying different things out, like this hair-style. Then it’ll be something else. That way I build up my self-confidence. But you just have to watch that you don’t get arrogant. Sometimes I think to myself, Take it easy. You’re not the greatest after all. For instance, somebody comes up to you and only wants to talk to you, but you can’t stand him. Then you sometimes say: Hey, you half-wit, what do you want?! You think he’s beneath you, even though that’s complete rubbish. But that’s the way some people do it. They think they’re the greatest when they hurt other people.

But I have to be careful too if I see some of these characters standing around staring at me. It’s best to make a little detour around them. A fair few people have wanted to pinch my gear, but nobody’s succeeded yet. I always managed to get away in the nick of time. And now I know if someone’s looking at me as if he hates me, I think, Who is that anyway? But then I think, Oh, forget it! Go a different way.

But once I thought I was in for it! I’d been shopping with a friend and we saw this guy looking at us with this grim expression. He tried to rip my cap off my head, but I ducked and said: Hey, what do you think you’re doing? He said: Want me to beat you up? I said: Hey, what is this crap? My friend was also looking at him and thinking, he’s alone and there are two of us! Yeah, but then two of his friends turned up and I went: Oh, shit, and then there was a fist in my face. But I managed to get away.

My friend thought they weren’t interested in him and he just stayed there. Yeah, but then he really saw stars. They beat him up pretty badly, his nose was bleeding and so on. That was at a bus-stop. When the bus came, he waited until the bus-driver was about to close the doors then he jumped in quick. ...
