have always fascinated me, and it makes no difference whether I go for a walk in a north
German forest or somewhere near Hamburg or whether I travel the wide and varied regions of
the USA. When I’m surrounded by a marvellous landscape, I find peace and
tranquillity, I’m at one with the world. |

Photography
enables me to capture a mood by pressing the shutter and to recall that mood again
whenever I want to. In a way, a photo is a window to my past. |

when others look at my photographs, I leave it to them to develop and enjoy their own
imagination, associations and feelings, depending on the mood they happen to be in. In the
end, the photograph will always reflect what they feel. |
